Section 2: Purpose of this Family Council
The main purpose of OUR Family Council is to improve the quality of life of residents and to give families and friends a voice in decisions that affect them and their loved ones in the Home.
Support for families; Education and information; Discussion and action on concerns; Communication with staff regarding the Home and residents
Section 3: Members
3.1 Members of the Board may resign at any time and this resignation will be accepted on being received.
3.2 In order to be a member in good standing in this Corporation, one must be a family member or friend of a resident or past resident and/or of the Home itself.
Section 4: Powers and Duties of the Board
4.1 The association and its Board members are there exclusively for the welfare of the residents, their improvement, pleasure, recreation or any other purpose except profit. Members of the Board do not distribute or otherwise make available for the personal benefit of a member any of its income.
4.2 Remuneration will be made available to members to cover expenses when officially (after Board approval) attending area meetings or similar functions requiring a FC member.
4.3 Board members will attend all Family Council meeting whenever possible and contribute by participating in activities and the decision process whenever possible.
Section 5: In case of dissolution of the FC.
5.1 If ever it comes to a point when this incorporation ceases to exist, all of its properties and funds remaining in all of its accounts will be donated, with proper receipts, to the Residents Council of Woodland Villa.
5.2 At no time, before, during or after dissolution, shall a member of this organization personally benefit in any way, due to the closure of its activities.
